The 2024 New Shoots Anthology Launch was a smashing success! Students, family, friends, teachers, UBC faculty, and members of the writing community attended to celebrate the publication of our beautiful book. Alongside a dozen talented student readers, we heard from renowned author Evelyn Lau, faculty supervisor Tanya Kyi, and mentors Ihomehe Agbebaku and Carolina Leyton (MFA and MACL respectively). It was a humbling and rewarding evening full of laughter, excitement, and awe at the talent of our young participants. Thanks to all who came out and showed their support!
