This anthology has a great mix of very imaginative pieces, and works that are very localized to Vancouver. “Asleep” is a poem lamenting the isolation of “an old teddy bear / Once loved and now / Forgotten. The short story “She Didn’t Look Back” zooms in on friends who have grown apart into very different people. “Tales from the Lonely Bus” tries to theorize why a girl is crying on the bus. “The Anticipation” is a flash fiction piece that paces the reader through a race. “Iceland” is a short piece depicting the country’s natural beauty before it became the prime tourist spot it is today.
