The fears during a dentist’s appointment are unveiled line by line in “Dentophobia.” The narrator reflects on the permanence of goodbyes in “Home Away From Home.” “Antebellum” ruminates on the gentrification of Vancouver for the Olympics, as well as the impending housing crisis, by centering the narrative on a struggling family. “Untitled” depicts the challenges during the artistic process of painting. “The Fear” is a poem about the speaker confronting themselves in front of the mirror.
