Now extending to 15 schools in Vancouver, many works in this volume write about nature prominently, as with “The Rain,” “Seasonal Anagrams,” and “Killer Whale.” “Desert Storm” continues New Shoots 6’s tradition of political resistance as a protest poem against the Gulf War. This volume also features the play “Equilibrium,” where the characters try to keep a room balanced on a forty-story pole.
